"This is a dream for any recording artist," Shania said at a press conference announcing the shows. "This is more than an opportunity, it's an exceptional gift."
According to the paper, Shania is looking for a home in Las Vegas and has been in meetings with her producing partners, AEG/Concerts West. She also reportedly toured the theater where she'll be performing and danced across the stage.
Shania and Fred were able to enjoy some of the shows that the city currently has to offer, taking in two Cirque du Soleil performances. They saw both the 'Beatles Love' at the Mirage, and 'Ka' at MGM Grand, during which they feasted on what the singer joked was "a healthy dinner in Las Vegas": popcorn, champagne and Fiji water.
Shania announced the concert run back in June 2011, but purposefully postponed the start date for 15 months. She has been battling a medical condition called dysphonia, which causes the muscles in her throat to squeeze her voice box. The 46-year-old blames the condition on traumatic events in her life, including the death of her parents in a car accident when she was a teenager and witnessing domestic violence as a child.
Until her Dec. 1 Vegas start date, fans can get their Shania fix from her duet with Lionel Richie. The pairs' cover of Diana Ross' 'Endless Love' can be heard on his 'Tuskegee' album, out March 27.
