"What people don't think about with character acting in the voice-over form [is] you're making a lot of sounds," Taylor shares with MTV. "It's very different from when you're singing songs that you wrote. With this, you're sitting there in a booth by yourself having conversations with no one."
Still, the reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year has never been one to shy away from a challenge. "Acting is something I've been fascinated by my entire life," Taylor notes, adding that she would have to have the right role to consider taking time away from her music career.
"I would want to have the time, the ability and the love for something, the love for a character to where I could really make that commitment to it," concedes the songstress.
Still, Taylor, who previously appeared in the movie, 'Valentine's Day,' admits she has been reading scripts for the last five years while searching for the right role. Undoubtedly, much of her time looking has happened while on the road. She will wrap up her 13-month Speak Now World tour on Saturday (March 17) in New Zealand, after which she will head back to the states to work on a new album.
'The Lorax,' which also stars Danny DeVito, Ed Helms and Rob Riggle, is in theaters nationwide. See movie times and locations here.
