'The Hunger Games' is set in a post-apocalyptic world where teens fight to the death in an annual event aired on live television. 'Eyes Open,' while relatable to the average person, is also spot on to the film's story line with lyrics such as, "Everybody's waiting / Everybody's watching / Even when you're sleeping, keep your eyes open."
Taylor's first release from the album was 'Safe and Sound,' with the Civil Wars. The singer-songwriter debuted the song via her Twitter page in December, and has since filmed a video for the haunting tune with the duo. (Watch it below.)
The 22-year-old isn't the only country songstress to make the soundtrack. Miranda Lambert is joined by her trio, the Pistol Annies, for the tune 'Run Daddy Run,' while the Secret Sisters are the voices behind 'Tomorrow Will Be Kinder.' Get a full track listing here.
'The Hunger Games' movie will hit theaters March 23. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth star in the film, which is based on the best-selling novel by Suzanne Collins.
