Charlotte Sometimes, 'The Voice': Singer Grateful for Career & Personal Advice From Team Blake

The second season of NBC's hit show, 'The Voice' is in full swing, with Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5's Adam Levine each coaching their team members with the hope of becoming this year's champion. One member on Team Blake, Charlotte Sometimes, was one of the few contestants who compelled all four judges to turn their red swivel chairs around at her blind audition, during which she sang a unique rendition of OneRepublic's 'Apologize.' When the time came for her to choose, there was no contest.

"Blake seems so genuine and sincere, and he has this little twinkle in his eye," she explains to The Boot. "I didn't know where I was -- if I was going to get too much further in this competition -- and I thought, 'Blake is going to make me have fun,' and ultimately isn't that what's its all about?"

The New Jersey native knew each of the coaches on the show had something to offer her, but she has never questioned her decision. "I don't think you can allow yourself to think that way, because I made the decision I made," she adds. "That's who I chose, and I'm just going to be thankful that anybody picked me and be thankful that Blake wants to help me."

The singer-songwriter was mentored by Kelly Clarkson prior to her sing-off of Foster the People's 'Pumped Up Kicks' with fellow contestant, Lex Land. Charlotte reports that she learned about a lot more than just vocal technique from the 'American Idol' champ.

"I'm such a big fan of Kelly Clarkson; I think she's so awesome," 'The Voice' contestant gushes. "We had this moment where we both crying and talking about people's opinions about us and our bodies."

The 24-year-old opened up to Kelly about one of the darkest times in her life, when she battled an eating disorder. "I was anorexic all growing up, and when my first record came out everyone was trashing me and calling me fat and all these things," Charlotte reveals. "It was really tough on me and, she really made me feel comfortable in my skin, and gave me confidence. She made me feel like it was OK to be myself and that was good enough. I'm so thankful that I got to have that conversation with her."

'The Voice' airs on Monday nights at 8:00 PM on NBC.
