'Love's Gonna Make It Alright' was written by Al Anderson and Chris Stapleton, and is one of the few that George, his son (and proud new papa) Bubba and longtime pal Dean Dillon, did not write for the most recent album.
"I've always thought that whether I'm writing or not, I've gotta pick the best songs, whether or not they're mine," says the Country Music Hall of Fame member. "I'm not gonna sing them just because I wrote them. I've gotta find the best songs to make the best record I can. I think all of these songs deserve to be on the record."
'Here for a Good Time,' has now spawned two No. 1 songs in a row on the Mediabase chart. The title track from the album (his third in a row to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard country album chart), was his first chart-topper as a songwriter.
Since his 1981 debut with 'Unwound,' George Strait has amassed the most chart-toppers of any artist in history -- including Elvis Presley! He has sold nearly 69 million records and with 33 different platinum or multi-platinum albums, King George has the most platinum certifications in country music and the third in all genres, behind the Beatles and Elvis.
George Strait is the only artist who has had 85 out of 90 radio singles reach the Top 10. He's also reached No. 1 on the Billboard country album chart a total of 24 times.
