The album takes its title, of course, from the Grammy-winning entertainer's hometown in Alabama, and it's a title that suited the country project -- to a capital 'T.'
"I want to let everybody know that I'm from there, and country is Tuskegee," Lionel told The Boot in our exclusive interview. "Or should I say rather, my country is Tuskegee. I was born and raised there, it's not just someplace I passed through one day. It just seemed fitting -- a celebration of life."
Lionel and Jennifer will be on stage together April 2 during the taping of 'ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends -- A Lifetime of Hits,' and will reunite this summer as vocal coaches on the just-announced ABC competition series, 'Duets,' also featuring Kelly Clarkson and Robin Thicke.
'Tuskegee' will be released March 26 and also includes guest appearances from Shania Twain, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and more. Read our full interview with Lionel, along with the album's track list here.
