Jennifer Nettles & Lionel Richie, 'Hello': Behind-the-Scenes Video

We're just days away from the March 26 release of 'Tuskegee,' the highly-anticipated duets album from pop-soul superstar Lionel Richie, pairing him with some of country music's best and brightest. One of the artists joining him on the collection is Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, who grew up just 180 miles away from Tuskegee, in Douglas, Ga., and who obviously felt right at home with one of the singer-songwriter's most iconic hits, 'Hello.' Although the two didn't work together side-by-side in the studio, they did share a real "hello" in addition to the recorded one. (Watch the video below.)

The album takes its title, of course, from the Grammy-winning entertainer's hometown in Alabama, and it's a title that suited the country project -- to a capital 'T.'

"I want to let everybody know that I'm from there, and country is Tuskegee," Lionel told The Boot in our exclusive interview. "Or should I say rather, my country is Tuskegee. I was born and raised there, it's not just someplace I passed through one day. It just seemed fitting -- a celebration of life."

Lionel and Jennifer will be on stage together April 2 during the taping of 'ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends -- A Lifetime of Hits,' and will reunite this summer as vocal coaches on the just-announced ABC competition series, 'Duets,' also featuring Kelly Clarkson and Robin Thicke.

'Tuskegee' will be released March 26 and also includes guest appearances from Shania Twain, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and more. Read our full interview with Lionel, along with the album's track list here.

Jenny ruins this song by oversinging it. "Hello" is a song that needs subtlety, but her screaming is obnoxious. The rest of the CD, however, is awesome. Willie has some great songs, and Blake Shelton does an incredible version of "You Are".

Jennifer has such a beautiful voice. She can sing anything. I hope she makes more music with Kristian soon. I love Sugarland!
