Sunny Sweeney Is Smoke Free!

It's been more than three months since Sunny Sweeney has had a cancer stick, pardon, a cigarette. The songstress, who says she smoked "too long to even think about," can only exclaim, "Isn't that crazy?" when discussing her feat.

"I have my little electrical cigarette," the singer-songwriter tells The Boot of her secret weapon. "It's water vapor. I'm wearing a patch, too, but I'm a heavy smoker and I have not smoked in months. That electric cigarette has really helped, because for me it's the social aspect, too, not just the nicotine. I would recommend to anyone who wants to quit to try and use those. If it works for me, it's going to work for somebody else."

The singer-songwriter's other secret weapon is her groom, Jeff Hellmer. "My husband and I both quit at the same time," she explains. "In June, we made a resolution. We were like, 'Let's quit together.' I've tried by myself and he's tried by himself, so we just said we're done, but we need to pick a date, so we picked Jan. 1. New Year's Eve, we knew we'd get to drinking, which we did. [laughs] But then we quit New Year's Day. I have not smoked since then."

Next up for Sunny is a gig as the sole female on the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour with Gary Allan, Rodney Atkins, Justin Moore and several other male country acts. "I am so excited," she exclaims. "I love it when that happens. I like hanging out with guys -- I'm a guys' girl."

However, if any of the boys are planning to prank the Texas girl, she has a warning for them: "I got stuff stored up," Sunny reveals. "I hope none of them think they're going to pull any fast ones on me. They don't want to, because I've got stuff planned."

The trek will be filled with fellow singer-songwriters, one of whom Sunny has her eye on. "I'm going to pin Eric Pasley down until he writes with me," she says with a laugh. "I love him. I think he's so talented. I'm pretty sure we speak the same language. [laughs]"

At the age of 76 ater smoking 55 years,had cold laser treatment walked out of the office and never smoked another cigarette.It'll be 15 months the 21st of this month...

I started smoking electric cigarettes but it wasn't enough. I moved on to other electrical devices. Now I'm up to smoking three toaster ovens a day.

everyone should quit.i used to smoke and glad i quit i saw too many people now my friend thinks she has thorat cancer shes 2 packs a day habit. i think the goverment should ban smoking cigarettes completely or better yet charge about 20.00 pak tax. i remember when my mother said she would quit when cigs hit a 1.00 a pak gee that was back in the 70s. she died from them too

Readers: Please don't believe the hype regarding the safety of electronic cigarettes. You must research the facts regarding these products, because the truth is not being revealed by the 'companies' selling them. The claims made by the manufacturers who import these products are false, and the FDA does not monitor or regulate production. A recent FDA study of the 'e-cig' revealed the following:

*Diethylene glycol was detected in one cartridge at approximately 1%. Diethylene glycol, an ingredient used in antifreeze, is toxic to humans.
*Certain tobacco-specific nitrosamines, which are human carcinogens, were detected in half of the samples tested.
*Tobacco-specific impurities suspected of being harmful to humans—anabasine, myosmine, and β-nicotyrine—were detected in a majority of the samples tested.
*The electronic cigarette cartridges that were labeled as containing no nicotine had low levels of nicotine present in all cartridges tested, except one.
*Three different electronic cigarette cartridges with the same label were tested and each cartridge emitted a markedly different amount of nicotine with each puff. The nicotine levels per puff ranged from 26.8 to 43.2 mcg nicotine/100 mL puff.

There are safe products available to aid tobacco-users through the cessation process. Discuss these options with a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist so that you can make wise, informed decisions. Don't be fooled by those who want you to remain addicted by continuing to insult your body with toxins, chemicals and carcinogens. Your health and well-being are not on their agendas. Remember: The goal is not to 'exchange poisons.' Rather, it's time to break the cycle of addiction and begin adding years to your life and life to your years.

You need to move to where it's illegal in bars and restaurants, I'm from IOWA, where Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota meet. It's Illegal in Iowa and South Dakota, I can't remember if it's illegal in Nebraska or not, and I've moved to Michigan, where it is also illegal. I haven't second handed since I was living at home year ago unless I visit relatives that smoke in their home.
