"It's in honor of a dear friend of ours, Miss Lisa White, who passed away from cancer," lead singer Kimberly Perry told local TV reporters (quote via Country Weekly). "So it was really amazing just to honor her life today and to raise money for such an amazing organization."
The visit turned into a meet-and-greet session, as the trio stayed to sign autographs and speak with each student.
The Perry siblings recently got to share a much lighter achievement with another pair of friends -- the father/daughter team, Clara and Brian Henningsen, who wrote the group's No. 1 single 'All Your Life.' "Sharing this No. 1 with our friends the Henningsens is a brand new experience for us, and we are thrilled and proud for them," Kimberly told The Boot. Clara and Brian alao co-penned the group's, 'You Lie,' with Clara's brother Aaron.
Hopefully, the band are able to spend the holiday weekend at home. They resume their concert schedule Tuesday (April 10) at the All for the Hall benefit for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Get their full schedule here.
