"I felt so privileged and honored to have been given the opportunity to be a part of "Act of Valor" and to shine a different kind of light on the work that the SEALS do," Keith explains.
The New Zealand-born singer-songwriter wanted to show the importance of the Navy SEALS' mission through his song. "After seeing 'Act of Valor,' my co-writer [Monty Powell] and I wanted to capture the essence of not only what these men and women do so extraordinarily, but how that relates to all of us," he shares. "'Valor' shows us what they are willing to give their all for, which made me wonder, 'What am I willing to give my life for?' 'For You' is intended to allow the listener to define who that is for them."
The husband of actress Nicole Kidman is undoubtedly in a celebratory mood today, after receiving an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry during his annual All For the Hall concert last night (April 10).
"I'm shocked," he gushed upon receiving the invite from his good friend, Vince Gill. "What a huge honor and how beautiful to have this happen tonight!"
Fresh from his successful vocal cord surgery, Keith will spend the next few months putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album, which he promises will give fans a more intimate look into his personal life.
"I already feel that this next album, the thrust and the pull as a songwriter is to talk more about some of my stories, personal stories, beyond my relationship with my wife and subjects that I've never really tapped into that much," he revealed.
