"We are so excited to have Rodney Atkins provide the entertainment at The Julep this year," a spokesperson for the concert said. "This event has a long and rich tradition as one of Louisville's premiere Derby Eve events. Having Rodney Atkins perform at the event only enhances that heritage."
To attend, individual dinner tickets are $500, with tables of 10 available for $10,000. Also, $100 tickets are offered for strictly the dance portion of the benefit.
Rodney has been keeping busy juggling family, career and philanthropy since filing for divorce from his wife Tammy Jo. He credits a great support system: his fans.
"Thanks for all the prayers," he shares with Florida radio station WKIS (quote via CMTT). "I can feel the good thoughts, which allow you to not react and take the high road in that situation. That just shows the class of you guys at radio, fans, friends ... It's hard for me to say 'fans.' It's friends you have out there. I feel better than I have in years, and I'm very excited about the future."
Rodney is currently on the road. His next show is tonight (April 12) in Sayreville, N.J.
