2012 CMT Music Awards Nominees

Carrie Underwood leads the way with five nominations for the 2012 CMT Music Awards. Close behind is Miranda Lambert with four nods -- two of which are recognition for her work in the Pistol Annies trio. The nominees were announced live this morning (April 23) on NBC's "Today" show by host Hoda Kotb and guest co-host Willie Giest, with the help of Little Big Town, who earned a nod in the CMT Performance of the Year category. The foursome will also perform during the ceremony, which airs June 6 on CMT.

Carrie is nominated twice for the night's top honor, Video of the Year, once for "Good Girl" and another for her collaboration with Brad Paisley, "Remind Me." Also up for Video of the Year are Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem," Kenny Chesney's "You and Tequila," which features Grace Potter, Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup," Lady Antebellum's "We Owned the Night," Miranda Lambert's "Over You," Rascal Flatts' "Easy" with Natasha Bedingfield, Blake Shelton's "God Gave Me You," and Taylor Swift's "Safe & Sound" with the Civil Wars.

All categories are fan-voted. You can cast your votes at CMT.com until June 4. The final five nominees for the Video of the Year category will be announced at the beginning of the telecast.

I love all the trolls bashing Carrie. And if someone sticks up for her, they all give a thumbs down. Ever notice the more you bash, the more popular she becomes?
Calling somebody else fat won't make you any skinnier. Calling someone stupid doesn't make you any smarter. Calling someone ugly doesn’t make you pretty. & calling someone annoying, DEFINITELY doesn’t make you cool.

It is very amusing when these people come on here and Post comments about stars like Carrie,but they never have proof to back up their comments,all heresay from some trash tabloid,or any other sourse that is not credible,only making yourselves look foolish!!!Congrats to all the CMT Video nominees,Good luck to all!!!!

I agree with Johnny. Why doesn't Tim get any nominations anymore? He is one of the best male vocalists and entertainers. His singles and albums do well too. I am not a fan of Carrie's but to know that she did that to her fans makes me dislike her more. I hope Martina, Sugarland, Blake and Rascal Flatss win. Most importantly, I hope Martina, Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Lionel and Shania, Lady A, Keith, Kenny, Tim and Faith perform. I only watch for the performances lately.

Johnny, why the anger against Carrie? She has done nothing to you. You need to go on your favorite artists comment section and make your remarks. Obviously, Carrie is doing something right and I am proud of her. Every time there is something written about Carrie - your ugly remarks pop up. How old are you?

My second grade students went to see her in concert and meet her. They spent alot of money for her it. When they got there, she was over an hour late. She didn't meet everyone and when her fans begged her stay and meet them, she left snickering. To top it all off, she didn't give everyone full refunds because they said they were in the same room as her for 5 minutes. If she was a nice Christian woman that she claims to be, she would have met them quickly, met them afterwards or atleast given them their money back! It is bad enought that she is disrespetful to to other artists like Faith, Taylor and Jessica but to be cruel to her fans and 7 year olds is disgusting! I am so sick and tired of people making up excuses for her. She is so full of herself, disrespectful and mean. Thats why she acts like the wicked witch and I do think she is ugly, especially on the inside!

I am glad that there are teachers out there like you who will defend their students and let people know that these celebrities are not saints that everyone makes them out to be. I agree with you. Carrie is ugly especially on the inside. She acts like she is better than everyone else and for what she did to those kids was completely inappropriate, rude, mean and selfish! I hope people realize that she is not a sweet Christian woman like she puts on. I met many people who met her and said she was snotty and rude. She is not a good vocalist either. She sings better than Taylor Swift but thats it. She and Taylor are the worst vocalists in country music. I don't understand why people think they are so good.

Carrie looks like the wicked witch and she acts like her too. Her chin is so pointy and her face is so long! All she needs is to switch the makeup that she gobs on her face to green. I hope Blake, Keith, Kenny, Rascal Flatts, Lady A and Martina win! They are great COUNTRY artists! I wish Tim got something. I feel like he has been getting robbed of nominations the last few years.
