The couple's first daughter, Naleigh, was adopted from South Korea in September of 2009. "I remember getting to hold her for the first time and feeling that acceptance from her," Josh tells The Boot of his firstborn. "And then she turned me into as selfless as I'm capable of being, from a pretty selfish dude to start with! [laughs]"
Naleigh has proven quite the Daddy's girl. "I take her to my studio and give her a bunch of shakers and tambourines and toy pianos, and while I'm recording vocals she's hanging out there," Josh says with a smile. "It's at the point where I'll play a chord on my guitar and she'll sing within that note. It's freaking me out! She understands music."
The singer and his wife of four years have been talking for quite sometime about giving Naleigh a sibling. Katherine is an outspoken advocate for adoption, as her sister, Margaret Leigh, was also adopted from Korea.
"Josh and I started talking about [adopting] before we were even engaged," the actress told Scholastic's Parent & Child magazine earlier this year. "We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first ... I'd like to adopt again."
