"I've gone through long periods of time when I've sung 'Let 'Em In' in my live shows, because I just think the song is so good," Le Ann said. "I love what it says about bringing people together. So when Phil asked if I'd like to be a part of this, I was delighted!"
Joining the songstress on the charity disc will be such country and Americana artists as Ollabelle, Steve Earle and Alison Moorer. Sir Paul isn't the only songwriter who's work Lee Ann is tackling. As The Boot previously reported, the native Texan just finished picking songs for a new album -- her first since 2008 -- and she's also due to appear on Kin, a collaborative album by Rodney Crowell and author Mary Karr.
Rodney and Mary have enlisted numerous big-name guests, among them Lucinda Williams, Rosanne Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Vince Gill.
Lee Ann sings on a song called "Mama's On a Roll" -- an appropriate choice, perhaps, given her current spate of projects.
