The guys will perform a special show on May 9, hosted by local radio station 98.1 The Bull, in Lexington, Ky., to raise money for those devastated by tornadoes that tore through the state in March. "Our hearts went out to all those family and businesses that were affected by the storms," Eddie shares. "We've been trying to organize something for a while so we're real glad this worked out with The Bull. This is our home and we want to do everything we can to help."
"We were devastated to hear of the destruction that went through Kentucky," adds Troy. "We are honored to help out and look forward to a big hometown party and raising much needed funds for these communities that need it."
The platinum-selling singers are following up "Where I Come From" with the second single, "So Called Life" from their latest CD, Rebels on the Run. "This [song] is for everybody that works for a living, gets a paycheck and half of it is already gone," Eddie says. "It's just your 'so called life' and hell, they want to get to the weekend and have a damn good time."
Montgomery Gentry will be joined by fellow Kentucky native Laura Bell Bundy for the benefit show, with proceeds going to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
