Chris Young Becomes Partner in Artist Development Company

Monarch Publicity

Chris Young is plenty busy with his own career as a hot country hitmaker, but now he's making time for a brand new venture to help up-and-coming artists as well. Chris has teamed with his mom, Becky Harris (pictured right) and his "Tomorrow" co-writer Anthony Smith (pictured left), to create a production and artist development company that will help foster growing talent in the music industry. All three partners will scout talent for the new company, Artist Concepts, with Anthony spearheading the search for songs. Chris will reportedly step up to the plate as co-producer on the album projects along with Anthony, while Becky will serve as bookkeeper and handle business management for the new firm's clients.

The new company already has its first signing, Brinley Addington (pictured center), a Belmont University alumnus who will be entering the studio in the next few months to begin work on a demo to take to prospective labels. Brinley has already opened several shows for Chris, and will be on the lineup for the Blake Shelton and Friends Cruise that sets sail this fall.

With five No. 1 singles to his credit and counting, Chris definitely knows his way around a hit song and should be able to offer up a lot of great advice to the Artist Concept clients. His new single, "Neon," is currently making its way up the charts, but Chris says he isn't necessarily holding his breath for the chart-topping streak to continue.

"If you think like that, it's just too much stress," Chris tells TasteofCountry.com. "I'm glad we've got 'Neon' out as a single. I'm just fired up to have another song on the radio and have the title track of the album out there."

Chris recently debuted the video for "Neon," and though the tune is about a love for old barrooms and traditional sounds coming from their jukeboxes, he elected to do some unique things with the video for the song. The clip was filmed at the historic Melrose Billiards, a retro poolhall in South Nashville that served as a perfect backdrop for the tune. Watch a behind-the-scenes clip from the video set below, followed by the official "Neon" video.
