The singer and budding actor, who has been meeting with directors in Los Angeles to pursue other acting opportunities, predicted he would guest-star on the hit TNT series. "Oh, I'm gonna be on the show," Craig promised The Boot a few weeks ago. "I'm a police officer, so it's a no-brainer! I can play a law enforcement officer from the South ... We still have to talk to the writers and producers and everything but, we're pretty sure!"
Instead of playing a cop, though, the Army veteran will play Dr. Bill Ray Higgins, a medical examiner who helps Angie's character, Jane Rizzoli and her partner, Maura Isles (played by Sasha Alexander), solve a crime.
This will not be the first time the 47-year-old appears on the small screen. In addition to his own TV show, "All Access Outdoors," which airs on the Outdoor channel, he also had a recurring role in Lifetime's TV show, "Army Wives."
While no specific date has been announced for Craig's appearance on "Rizzoli & Isles," the episode will air sometime in July. "Rizzoli & Isles" airs on Tuesdays at 9:00 PM ET, beginning on June 5.
