Eric Church Buffalo Show Postponed, Fans Get Unruly

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Fans of the country music singer Eric Church smashed chairs and threw bottles and cans after his planned concert in Buffalo was canceled due to bad weather.

The Buffalo News reports organizers of the WYRK Taste of Country concert decided to halt the multi-act show at around 11 p.m. Friday after strong winds threatened the stage at Buffalo's Coca Cola Field.

Church had originally been scheduled to go on at about 9:45 p.m.

Some fans, who had been waiting in heavy rain, responded by hurling chairs onto the stage, or dumping them into large piles. Some witnesses described the scene as frightening.

The singer issued a statement saying he was "bummed" about the cancellation, but planned to return to Buffalo at a later date.

What morons! He has promised a "free" makeup show because of the weather. If it's half as good as the one Kenny Chesney did for Dallas in 2009, they're in for the treat of a lifetime. But then, the TX crowd didn't act like these idiots even though the lightening was horrible and there were tornadoes all around. We were more concerned for everyone's safety.

Of course he should have went on stage, then when there was a tragedy such as the one that happened with Sugarland a couple of years ago at the Indiana State Fair where several people died, and dozens were injured they could all blame him as everyone did Sugarland. Then they could turn around and sue Eric Church like the concertgoers at the Sugarland concert because they chose to stay there in the bad weather. Idiots.

Actions speak louder than words....Look at how the new male country singer dresses...T-shirt or shirt hanging outside of jeans, baseball cap......."See I'am just like you".......Look at the type fans they attract.

I don't see where the recording artist has anything to do with how these disgruntled fans reacted to bad weather. If you have had any contact with country folks, you would know they do not wear suits and ties for very many events.

And this is why lots of people don't like to come to western New York because people have to do stupid stuff like this. It makes the rest of us look bad. Just another reason why I hate Buffalo...

Yeah, because Buffalo is the only place this type of stuff ever happens. Never in, say, Detroit, NYC, Chicago, Vancouver, any city in Europe, New Orleans, Sacramento, etc., etc. Nope, only Buffalo.
