Taylor Swift, 'Dear John' Deemed 'Cheap Songwriting' by John Mayer

Bryan Bedder, Getty Images

NEW YORK (AP) -- Taylor Swift has never revealed her target in the scathing song "Dear John," but John Mayer's pretty sure it was about him -- and he doesn't think that's cool.

In a new Rolling Stone interview, Mayer called "Dear John" cheap songwriting and said it made him feel terrible -- and he didn't deserve it.

Swift's song from the multi-platinum Speak Now album dresses down a former boyfriend. Swift has never confirmed that the pair dated and when asked pointedly refused to say that song was about Mayer.

Mayer says he did nothing to deserve the song and says Swift -- his former musical collaborator -- kicked him when he was down.

Mayer's Born and Raised, his first album in three years, debuted as the nation's best-selling album last week.

Man-up, Mayer. I see a sniveling narcissist who's piggybacking on Taylor's fame trying to keep his fading star in people's faces is all. She laid it down, made ANOTHER hit song, and moved on like Taylor can do, which is one of the reasons she's so totally successful while worms like little Johnny bleet and wiggle for attention. Last laugh, 'dear' John!

Is this the same John Mayer who has dished stories about his exes in the pages of Playboy magazine and written songs about them too? Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston come to mind.

Maybe if a 35 year old man didn't feel the need to date 18 year old girls, he wouldn't be subject to that 18 year old's songs! What a slug! He was basically a child molester.

She was 19. It's in the lyrics..."don't you think 19s too young to be played by your dark twisted games"....

He is so full of himself and rude. He can talk about his exgirlfriends like Jessica Simpson to the public but Taylor does it and its cheap! I don't even like Taylor Swift's music but to call it cheap is just rude and disrespectful. I hope someone slaps his ugly face!
