Previously called "The Star Next Door," the title of the show, which was created by Queen Latifah, has been changed to "The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep." Joining the country star and singer-actress will be Nelly, Joe Jonas and Gloria Estefan.
"With @GloriaEstefan and brother @joejonas on the set in LA!!," John tweeted recently, along with a picture of his new pals. "This show is gonna be crazayyy!"
For the show, each celebrity judge will travel across the country, looking for the best local talent, who will represent their town in a televised performance. In addition to acting as their mentor, the celeb will also live with their contestants for three days, immersing themselves in their lives, including spending time with their family, at their jobs and in their social circles.
No official air date has been announced for the show's premiere.
Also on tap for John and his singing partner, Big Kenny, is Big & Rich's upcoming album, Hilbilly Jedi, which will hit shelves later this year. The first single from the CD, "That's Why I Pray," is currently climbing the charts.
