The Hard Rock Café was decked out in a vintage country-chic theme for the event, with burlap-accented tables filled with wildflowers and black-and-white tintype photos of the band adorning the space where the party took place. Scrumptious-looking cream and mocha-icing-colored cupcakes sprinkled with sparkles, sliders, chicken fingers and other food was on the menu for the fan-centric event, and memorabilia from the Perrys' career was available for fans to peruse along with the other music memorabilia that decorated the walls of the Hard Rock.
The Perrys answered questions before the party officially kicked off, then let the 200 fans walk the red carpet and answer their own questions from the press in attendance at the fun-filled event. "This is our very first fan club party," announced Kimberly to the throngs of fans gathered to visit with the family trio. "And y'all look beautiful! We wanted to do this, because in the Band Perry's eyes, ya'll are the stars!"
Three special guests were in attendance at the party as well, as the host of the Travel Channel's new TV series Flip Your Trip showed up with a pair of fans whose trip he took over for the week. He filmed the pair meeting and taking photos with the Perrys for an upcoming episode of the show. Band members Kimberly, Reid and Neil spent one-on-one time with every person at the party, chatting and posing for pictures, and several eager female fans requested double-cheeked kisses from brothers Reid and Neil.
After finishing up with each of the 200 in attendance, the trio gave away signed T-shirts, CDs and pictures, then continued the VIP experience by hosting a special awards ceremony for the fans. The three awarded specially designed TBP statues to fans in several categories, including the Band Perry's oldest and youngest fan, the Most Frequent Tweeter Award and a very special annual award, the Band Perry's Number One Fan, which went to their precious grandmother, Betty Lou, who has tirelessly cheered the group on from day one. That award will now forever be known, announced Kimberly, as "The Betty Lou Award."
"This one is like Entertainer of the Year," said Kimberly, as she hugged her grandma's neck and handed her the statue.
Fans were in for two more treats, as Kimberly, Reid and Neil announced that the 200 people in attendance at the party were actually the inaugural card-carrying members of their brand-new fan club. Unveiling a banner, Kimberly revealed the name of the club, chosen by the fans themselves: "The Fans Perry." The band then sent the official new fan club members home with a set that included a sassy version of "You Lie," their hit "All Your Life" and "Independence."
They'll wrap up their CMA week tonight with their first-ever full performance on the main stage at LP Field in Nashville.
