Kenny Chesney Look-Alike Ejected From Nashville Concert

A Tennessee man was escorted out of the Brothers of the Sun tour stop in Nashville Saturday (June 23) night for looking too much like one of the headliners.

"Just got kicked out of [Kenny Chesney] concert because drunk people thought I was actually him. No refund ... so mad," school teacher Nathan Blakenship tweeted after being ejected from LP Field.

Blakenship, who was dressed in a blue, sleeveless shirt and a straw cowboy hat, had been at the concert for four hours when the incident occurred, he told local TV station WKRN. (Watch the news clip below.)

The concert-goer (pictured above) was approached by LP Field security and told that he was "purposefully trying to impersonate a celebrity." Then several staff members accompanied him out of the stadium.

"I think the way they handled it made it seem worse, like they were really escorting Kenny Chesney through the crowd," Blakenship said.

The country fan, who -- unlike Kenny -- has a Superman tattoo on his upper left arm, says he tried to reason with the officials. "Is it because I wear the hat?" he asked. "I see a million of these hats here. I've worn baseball caps before and people still want to have pictures made [with me], but it's never caused a problem. I can't believe they think I'm actually him. Why would Mr. Chesney be in the crowd when Tim McGraw is singing?"

While Nathan spent $200 on his ticket, he's mostly upset about a comment made by one of the security members.

"I would like to know what it meant when the security said, 'This is coming straight from the top,'" he says. In order to get an answer, WKRN contacted LP Field officials, who explained that they'd been "tipped off" about Blakenship before the show.

However, Kenny's publicist has released a statement assuring that the singer and his camp were not "aware that this fan had been escorted from the show until after it had been reported by the media." Additionally, concert promoter Kate McMahon stated, "We never want our fans to leave disappointed and we are reaching out to him to make this situation right."

Whatever happened to "Imitation is the highest form of flattery"?
I can understand if they thought he was trying to pass himself off to be Kenny but he flatly denies doing so. I don't see him sing, I don't see him signing autographs so what gives? Does this mean everyone who is a doppelganger to someone else has to be bar coded?

In my opinion, I don't even think that he looks like Chesney. . .I am not a Kenny Chesney fan to begin with, I have my own opinion of Kenny, but this guy, other than the way that he was dressed which showed that he was definitely trying to emulate Kenny, I would never have mistaken him for Kenny! Speaking about look-a-likes, I was at a Trace Adkins concert recently where there was a guy sitting two rows behind me that was definitely doing a Tim McGraw! The way he was dressed was definitely like a dressed up Tim McGraw, and he was close to a dead ringer for him. . .at a Trace Adkins concert, no less??!! HUH?! A few of us did actually do double takes when we first saw him! Did the guy know the difference between Tim McGraw and Trace Adkins?! DUH?!

I never answer these things but.....I was at that show .I wasn't close enough to see what happened, but there certainly was a great deal of comotion. So much so that Tim McGraw looked in that direction. I remember thinking to myself how rude it was that these people were interrupting Tim's set. I've been to enough Kenny shows over the years to know that KENNY DOESN'T WALK THROUGH CROWDS! If this guy was there for 4 hours as he claims, without incident, he had to have done something to put the crowd into a frenzy. People were screaming "It's Kenny", or "There's Kenny". It definately was enough to cause a big comotion.

That being said.....as a security officer myself, my guess is that they removed him for his own safety as well as the safety of the fans around him. (though I have to agree, their reason WAS BOGUS). Those officers were only doing their jobs as they were instructed to do it.

Please read the whole article, people. . Don't stop where it says he got thrown out. Kenny's camp is trying to rectify the situation.
