Chris Young Narrowly Escapes Burning Tour Bus

Touring is a tough business, and country singer Chris Young can prove it. Just last week, the "Neon" crooner had a close call when his tour bus almost burst into flames.

According to Country Weekly, Chris and his crew were headed to a show in Charlotte, N.C. when the whole mess started. The singer's tour manager ordered everyone to evacuate the bus as quickly as possible.

The fast thinking spared the crew from getting hurt, but they were still left a bit shaken up.

"It was about five seconds from being in flames," the singer recalls. "There was smoke coming out of the back of it, and it was red. We put it out with a fire extinguisher. Thank God we did."

Touring in the hot summer heat sure can wreak havoc on your ride. However, Chris says he's happy he's not apart of the "Bus on Fire Club," referring to fellow singers Jerrod Niemann, Justin Moore, Randy Houser and Lee Brice's recent bus blazes.

Isn't this like the 3rd tour bus this year that has caught fire? I think it's time to look into where you get your tour buses and who's building/repairing them!

I submitted too soon. Also Tomorrow, as well as Neon. His CD's also have a lot of good songs on them that haven't made the charts................Yet. I am glad he is okay and I hope to see him in concert one day.

He sang "Save Water, Drink Beer" on the CMA's and I thought it was a great song (even though I don't drink beer! LOL!). Why doesn't he release that??? Neon sucks!

ine song wonder yeah right! have you ever heard these songs: i wanna take you home, the man i wanna be, voices, tomorrow, you, neon and many more? he sure isnt a one hit wonder as yopu put it but a very talented and great singer. which has nothing to do with the fact that he and his band could have lost their lives but almost lost their traveling home. i applaud the quick level headed thinking of his band mate that put the almost ifre out. and to his manager for making them flee their bus. i wonder how you would feel if chris and his band had
perished in a bus fire? i for onel know i would be devastated.

i am so glad that chris and his fellow band mates are ok and didnt get caught in a horrible bus fire he is such an awesome singer!

The fires are the result of inept maintenance. No vehicle runs on fuel and water. You have to keep up with the maintenance if you don't want to have problems everytine you take it out. I own a motorhome and everytine I take it on the road when i get back there are things to fix. I never go out with a front to rear check of every working piece of the chassis. I want to know I am going to get back without a breakdown along some road to nowhere. Sure it costs but if you cannot afford it you should now be driving it.
