According to Entertainment Weekly, the Canadian singer, who says he is "a big Blake fan," started taping his appearances on the show earlier this week. Michael became aware of Blake when he recorded Michael's hit, "Home," making it a No. 1 hit on both the adult contemporary and country charts.
The husband of Miranda Lambert admits that it is a struggle to balance a music career and married life with his appearance on the TV show, but he does it because he believes in the premise of "The Voice."
"I love how the show starts," Blake tells The Boot. "It starts with people who are truly talented, nothing more than they're truly great singers. We have no knowledge, nothing else do we know about these people other than they're great singers. If they're really, really good and we think it's something that we can figure out a way to do something with them to help them, then we want them to be on our team. Only when we make the decision that we want to work with them, then we get to see them."
Blake's previous advisers include Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. The advisers for the other three coaches -- Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green -- have yet to be announced.
"The Voice" will return for its third season on Monday, Sept. 10 at 8:00 PM ET.
