Taylor Swift Tops Forbes List of Highest Paid Celebs Under 30

Taylor Swift is officially the richest young celebrity in America. The 22-year-old tops Forbes magazine's list of Highest Paid Celebrities Under 30, raking in an impressive $57 million between May 2011 and May 2012, thanks in part to each of her three albums selling an excess of five million units worldwide.

The songstress beats out the second place celeb (and her bestie Selena Gomez's boyfriend) Justin Bieber (age 18), by a cool $2 million. Rihanna (24) comes in at No. 3 with $53 million, with Lady Gaga (26), who held the No. 1 spot last year, coming in fourth place with $52 million. Katy Perry (27) rounds out the Top 5 with $45 million.

Other famous faces on the list include Adele (24), Kristen Stewart (22), Lil Wayne (29) and Robert Pattinson (26). The "Eyes Open" singer moved up from the fifth slot she held last year, earning an estimated $12 million more in earnings since the 2011 list.

This is not Taylor's first appearance on a Forbes list this year, either. The Pennsylvania native also landed at No. 11 on the publication's list of 100 Most Influential Entertainers.

The singer-songwriter isn't spending her days living in the lap of luxury. She recently hinted she was putting the final touches on a new album, which should hit shelves later this year. "I'm writing you from Nashville, where I just sat in a big room with a lot of people and made a lot of decisions about a lot of things happening very soon," she revealed on her Facebook page. "And as vague as that sentence was, I think you know what it means. Stuff is about to happen."

Just goes to show you that music has gone straight to hell. I can see her appealing to pre-pubescent kids, but not to adults. Any adult that would buy her music had to have been very sheltered as a youth. Very monotone sound. I miss the days when an artist really had to be one to be that successful.

I was anything but sheltered bozo, am 62, male, and I adore her for who she is and what she had done in this world. Meanwhile you're scratching your bag belly at the computer and swilling cheap beer while she shines across genres, nations and all classes of society. Wonder who's happier?

She's given away more of it than any other too, to tornado victims, flood relief, schools, hospitals, libraries and worthy causes. The best role model for girls in America DESERVES to be the highest earning through her speaking for their hearts and minds alone, but Taylor is the complete package; someone every girl can admire and aspire to be like. Youngest songwriter ever honored by the Hall of Fame, winner of more awards than anybody anywhere at her age, a total sweetheart for real, still humble and she's just getting started!
