"Expect this Christmas tour to be different than the previous years," says the singer. "We'll still have the classics, but this year I'm ready to rock!"
In the gift-giving spirit, Wynonna is offering prime seats to concertgoers who have already purchased tickets as part of her Tweet Your Seat campaign. Up to five lucky winners and a guest will win pre-show meet-and-greet passes plus upgrades to premium seating. For more details, including on-sale dates, visit Wy's official website.
Growing up in Kentucky, Wynonna has special memories of Christmas, even though her family never had much but made the holidays special with what little they did have.
"I spent a lot of time dreaming and hoping for great things to happen to my family and I," she recalls. "Every year we would cut down our Christmas tree and spend a lot of time baking. Most of our gifts were homemade from the treats to the ornaments and decorations. We still keep Christmas pretty simple. It's more about fellowship than material things. We have everything that we need."
Wynonna, who married her Big Noise drummer, Cactus Moser, last month, says it's important to give back, and the holidays present opportunities to do just that.
"If I'm ever in a sad place in my life, giving of myself through service is a way for me to get out my own stuff and step into helping another," she notes. "It changes the way I feel. It has always encouraged me and allowed me the opportunity to heal through my own challenges."
