LeAnn Rimes Scraps Shows Due to Dental Trouble: Surgery to Follow Emergency Root Canal

AXELLE/BAUER-GRIFFIN.COM

Dental drama forced LeAnn Rimes to cancel a string of tour dates last week, Contact Music reports, and after undergoing an emergency root canal on Thursday, the country star is facing some rather unpleasant surgery to fix an ailing tooth.

"Going into an 8 hr surgery tmrw.....beyond anxious," LeAnn tweeted last night (July 29), days after scrapping shows in New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Carmel, Ind. "Thank goodness for a rocking Anesthesiologist :)"

The trouble began last Thursday, when the "How Do I Live" singer jumped on TwitLonger to update fans on her aching chompers.

"Waiting on the endodontist to meet me and do a nighttime root canal," she tweeted. "This is one of the craziest things I've ever been through. Trying to keep my mind off the pain & what's about to happen by saying hi to you guys. Life does not work on the right schedule sometimes. This is such bad timing!!!!! K, wish me luck. Much love!"

The next day, she offered a post-root-canal update.

"Happy Friday! I'll be spending mine in bed," she tweeted. "My mouth kills!!! I feel like the girl in the Exorcist where she can't stop moving her head around on the pillow. I can't get comfortable! Hopefully, no pea soup will come shooting out and I won't be moving any dressers in front of the door to our bedroom w/ my mind :) no possession here, just rediculious tooth pain!"

Fortunately, she found ways to keep her mind off the agony. In addition to working on artwork for her upcoming Spitfire album, LeAnn joined folks around the world in casting her eyes toward London.

"I've been on the couch most of the day, super fun!" she tweeted on Saturday. "Watching the Olympics. We have some beautiful girls on the US Volleyball team.Great players."

I don't like show she behaves at all but she is extremely talented. She should get her act together and put out an album. I don't understand is why people only bash Leann for the affair and not Eddie. I think they were both wrong. I also think something is wrong with how the kids are always hurt when she is watching them. The kids are innocent bystanders and are probably hurting the most from this affair.

You people should all learn to comprehend what you read before posting your comments. Re-read the article again, PLEASE. she had a root canal procedure last Thursday and it sounds like she had some complications from it as, according to this article, she tweeted an update LAST NIGHT that she'll be undergoing an 8-hour surgery. Being critical of her is one thing, but, calling her a liar because you all have apparent reading comprehension problem is quite another. No, I'm not an avid LeAnn Rimes fan though I do like some of her songs.

Maybe you could suggest that the writer get the story right. According to her twitter, she was in pain on Wednesday. she had an emergency root canal Wednesday night. Having had root canals, I know they are not a big deal. She then tweeted her agonizing pain all weekend, ending with an 8 hour dental surgery today. If people don't believe her, it's because she has cried wolf so much. Any time Eddie has his kids and she can't keep a close eye on him, she cancels. 30ish concerts in THREE years have been canceled by her. There is something wrong with a 30yr old woman to have so much pain when she has to sing. Never in pain on her many vacations or photo ops.

Hahaha! No way is a dental surgery taking 8 hours. Now if she's having plastic surgery to fix her implants, remove all the stretch marks, fix her teeth AGAIN, and continue her 'Brandi makeover,' all of that may take 8 hours. But her teeth? Jaw? Shaving bones? Get used to it, Leann. Eddie will cheat on you, you've gotta decide between him and your fans. Remember when you kept hearing 'Karma?' How do you like your karma? No one deserves it more than you do.

Her lies are ridiculous. I've had a few root canals in my lifetime and they have never taken 8 hours. I don't take freezing well and have had 6 needles in my mouth and still was able to function comptelely fine by the next day. Maybe some slight jaw pain from having my mouth open for so long (which was solved after they gave me a cushion for the next procedure).

Her problem is her fear that Eddie will cheat on her. How many more concerts can she cancel with the "sick" excuse before people stop going to see her altogehter. The concert she cancelled this weekend, it was the first cancellation at that fair in something like 20 years.

Her lies are insane! A root canal is done over two or three visits! It's not a big deal. She can't bear to let Eddie be alone w/ his kids so she makes up something every time she has a show: She has the flu, she has kidney stones, she has diarrhea, blah blah blah. A root canal is NOTHING! She could have had on Wed. night and did her concert on Thursday.
