"The story of how brave little Payton was caught my attention, then captured my heart," says the "Sound of a Million Dreams" singer. "To see this little girl fight so hard, never give up and be so positive ... You realize what struggle really is, and you want to do whatever you can so no more children have to face this sort of terrible illness. The idea that I can bring my music to Pittsburgh, to have these songs and my band help something so deserving, that's the greatest thing that comes with having a little bit of success: benefiting others."
Going Country for a Cure will be held at Jergel's Rhythm Grille in Warrendale, Pa. General admission tickets are $25, with VIP tickets -- which include dinner, drinks and the opportunity to meet David -- priced at $100. To purchase tickets or find out more about the foundation, click here.
