Who Is 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' About? Not Joe Jonas, Pop Star Insists

As if music fans didn't wonder enough about Taylor Swift's love life, her latest single has sparked a new level of intrigue regarding just whom the song addresses. "We Are Never Getting Back Together," the lead single from Taylor's forthcoming album Red, is already breaking records, becoming the fastest-selling single to reach No. 1 on iTunes in a mere 50 minutes.

Despite the song's success, one of Taylor's exes, Joe Jonas seems eager to distance himself from the track. According to E! Online, Joe confirms that the song is definitely not about him.

"I can say it's not about me, because I don't think we've ever tried another time," Joe said in an interview with radio station 94.7 Fresh FM. "I like the song, I think the song is great ... Taylor does pop music really well and I'm happy for her."

Others speculate that the song is about Taylor's other recent ex, John Mayer, but after she slammed him in "Dear John" it seems unlikely. Which means the song could be about actors Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal, or another not-likely-to-be-identified-anytime-soon ex-beau.

The guessing games will no doubt continue when Red hits stores Oct. 22.

I'm a Taylor Swift fan...but what I hate most about her is that the songs that are released to be out on the radio are always the worst ones from the album. She has way better songs...Sure, a majority of them are about break ups...but a lot of them are good. This one isn't really one of them.

she seems like she's boy crazy and can't be single or alone for a short time. if she has to make a song about every one of her breakup or heartache because she falls in love too fast, then she should learn from those mistakes. then again, maybe she does it so she can get a good song out of it lol

I forgot to add this in, why does she always blame the breakups on the guy who said she was perfect. She has hung around with kids too long and her brain got detained. And mothers out buying her crap is this what you want your little girls listening to, some roll model..when she hops from bed to bed do you not let your little ones see this? I bet not this is what she is teaching them is it's ok to do then blame the guy when he dumps her and she whines about it and writes a new somebody dumbed me again song, wonder what I did wrong...laffin....

This kid and I do mean bed hops with the best of them..lol Then when the men find out she is so immature they dump her as fast as they can, now she has switched to a teenager that will fit her...But wait did he invite her to his prom?...lol Maybe this will keep her out of trying to be a Country star which she isn't and never has been. Can you believe buying a house across the street from your new boyfriend? Just shows you she has more money than sense...I feel for this boy but I do think he'll be the next song.

You hit the nail on the head. The fact that this girl bought a house next to a teenage boy she just started dating tells a lot about her and her level of stability and ability to make concrete and logical decision.

So what happens if it doesn't work out??
