"The ACAs honor the best and brightest of country music, from the hotshot breakthrough artists to the icons," says Trace. "I'm looking forward to cutting loose again with Kristin, who's quite the firecracker comedienne, while we also take viewers through an evening of great music and awards."
For her part, the 4'11" star, who is towered over by her 6'6" co-host but stands shoulder-to-shoulder with him when it comes to wit and charm, plans on injecting the evening with even more lighthearted moments.
"We had a blast last year," she notes, "and I plan to pull out all the stops to make sure everyone has a good time."
The singer and actress, who was originally scheduled to appear in several episodes of "The Good Wife" this fall, withdrew from the series after sustaining an injury during filming of the CBS drama. She assured fans she'll return to the series when she is able.
The ACAs, which are entirely fan-voted, began in 2010 with Trace hosting the show by himself. Jason Aldean was the big winner in 2011, taking home six new Fender guitars (in lieu of trophies), including one for Artist of the Year.
The ACAs will broadcast live from Las Vegas on FOX, with an exact air date to be announced soon.
