"Stay in school!" Kids may roll their eyes at that oft-heard phrase, as they argue with their parents that some of the wealthiest celebrities on the planet dropped out of school to start their careers early. But in the notoriously volatile entertainment business, no one can argue with having an education to fall back on. As summer comes to a close and school doors open, The Boot pays tribute to the country stars who took their reading, writing and arithmetic seriously.

Everybody who knows anything about Garth knows he went to college. This is old news. He was friends with Trisha Yearwood there.

Garth Brooks, the guy who was incensed when he found out there was a secondary market for his used CD's and he wasn't receiving any royalties. Can you say greedy? It's like Chevy demanding a cut of every used Chevrolet sold. Oops, careful they may just like the idea.

- - and Kris was a genuine Rhodes Scholar, not a punk who didn't finish, like another person who's more notorious than famous. I like Kris. He's got heart, guts, brains and stones, all of which he's proven many times, and not to prove anything to anyone else, but because whatever it was he did was something he felt needed doing. Go Kris!
