LeAnn Rimes Sues Two Women for Recording Phone Call

LOS ANGELES (AP) - LeAnn Rimes has sued two women she claims illegally taped a phone conversation with her and posted edited snippets online.

The country singer's lawsuit filed in Los Angeles seeks damages of more than $25,000 against Kimberly Smiley and her daughter Lexi, who are described in the case as supporters of the ex-wife of Rimes' husband Eddie Cibrian.

The suit claims Rimes did not know she was being recorded and spoke to the Smileys to get them to stop posting negative things about her online.

Kimberly Smiley says the case is a publicity ploy.

The lawsuit comes one day after the 30-year-old entered an in-patient treatment facility in what her publicist Marcel Pariseau describes as an attempt to "learn and develop coping mechanisms."

Rimes will perform on weekends through September.

I'm sure that the public's harsh judgement has taken it's toll on LeAnn, but she would have to have an incredibly high God-complex to think that there wouldn't be negative reactions to what her and Eddie did to their spouses when they started their affair. If they weren't happy, they should have ended their marriages rather than hold onto them while they were dating each other. While cheating among celebrities is more common than it should be, the ones doing the cheating often get slammed by fans, non-fans, and the media. It goes with the territory, and LeAnn has a lot to learn due to her shallow-mindedness. She flaunted her body more during the past year than even Courtney Stodden did, and for that and for her ignorance about reactions to her open affair, she needs a lot of help. I hope that she learns something from all of this, and stops thinking that she is God's gift to mankind. I wouldn't want to know someone like her.

JMO but Leann Rimes is her own worst enemy and not Cibrian's ex-wife. If Leann can dish it out then be woman enough to take it and not run off to rehab via her attorney's office. It's not that they had an affair (happens all the time) but the way they went about it, coupled with their lack of remorse over those they hurt in the process. Personally, I don't need to see her in one more itsy-bitsy teenie weenie bikini photo (we get it already) or any other pic or story for that matter. It wasn't the blogger who called Leann to harass but the other way around. No, I don't think it's right to record a phone call without consent, however, in this case, I hope the blogger counter sues Leann for stalking her in the first place.

Im sorry but my exhusband cheated on me multiple times and the hos all got an earful from me. As for judging her- well the proof is right there in the pics- she is a lying, cheating ho- she was married, he was married and they screwed around like they didnt have a care in the world, so they are BOTH hos and deserve whatever crap they get for it. Cheating hurts more than just the person being cheating on, especially when there are kids involved, families, etc. Walks like a duck, talks like a duck- you know the saying and it fits for Eddie and Leann!
