Emily Robison Welcomes Baby Girl

Gary Miller, FilmMagic

It's a chick! Court Yard Hounds and Dixie Chicks co-founder Emily Robison gave birth to Violet Isabel on Tuesday (Sept. 4). The baby girl, who weighed in at 8.5 pounds, is the singer-songwriter's fourth child but first with boyfriend Martin Strayer. Emily's three oldest children, Gus (9) and twins Juliana and Henry (7), are with ex-husband Charlie Robison.

"Mom and baby Violet are doing well and Dad couldn't be happier," the Dixie Chicks posted on their Facebook page.

Violet is the ninth Dixie Chick baby. Emily's sister, Martie Maguire has three daughters, while lead singer Natalie Maines has two sons. Both Emily and Martie have been vocal about their fertility problems in the past, making Violet's birth all the more miraculous. The Dixie Chicks' song "So Hard," from the trio's Grammy-winning Taking the Long Way album, is about the singing sisters' troubles conceiving and the miscarriages both suffered before welcoming healthy children.

A big congrats to Emily and Martin on their new baby girl!

Does anybody care what's going on with a Dixie Chick? It's not like it takes any talent to reproduce.....

This proves one thing, keep your political views to yourself. This also goes for actors, we are not interested.

Can't tell you aren't interested. You sure aren't reading this for the intellectual content. Like I said to the other rude commentor, If people weren't interested these sights wouldn't publish. They would be broke. You feel like no one is interested in their views but somehow someone is upposed to be interested in yours?? You sure didn't post it to see your own thoughts in print now did you?? THey may be entertainers but they are people too that live and function in this country just like the rest of us and I can't remember the last time very many people were happy with our Pres. but because they are celebrity they should keep their mouths closed...please....you should consider taking your own advice....but that's what is great about America, you don't have to and I dont' have to read what you say either.....:)

Maybe country radio should boycott Hank Williams Jr. and ruin his career like they did " The Dixie Chicks".

Well I see the "Dixie Chumps" are still making some kind of news, sure isn't about their music. Ruined their own careers being unAmerican.

UnAmerican??? By doing what exactly, excersizing their right to "free" speech?? That's waht is so great about this country people get to say whatever the hell they please (example: your harsh ass comment above) and anyone that doesn't want to listen doesn't have to. Funny how they spoke their peace but when everyone else jumped on the band wagon and voiced their distaste for Bush it was just fine because it was the "popular" thing to do....at least they had the guts to say how they felt not waht everyone thought they should feel.....FUnny how people act liek they don't want to hear what celebrities have to say but yet magazines and news shows are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars for the interviews, and the public eats it up but the minute it's not what they like it's " shut up and do what your paid to do!" What a joke.....you are just another spineless robot that today's America has created!!! Congrats
