Eric Church Live Album to Hit Stores in 2013

Jim Sutter

Touring troubadour Eric Church is immortalizing his live show. The "Springsteen" singer will release his first-ever live album in early 2013. The project will be recorded during his Oct. 8 and 9 shows at Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Making a live album is actually somewhat of a break for the country star, given that songwriting and studio time aren't needed. "I don't like making records," Eric admitted to Taste of Country earlier this summer. "It's so hard for me, and it's hard on me because of what I go through as a songwriter and what I go through in the recording process. Every time it almost kills me. I never look forward to making a record."

The upcoming album follows Eric's platinum-selling Chief, which spawned the hit singles "Springsteen," "Drink in My Hand," "Homeboy" and "Creepin'." The singer-songwriter tells Billboard that he's "not anywhere close" to an album of new material, and that he plans to go out of the spotlight in 2013 to find inspiration for his next set of tunes.

In the meantime, the fall leg of Eric's headlining Blood, Sweat and Beers tour begins Sept. 13. Click here for a list of cities and dates on the trek.
