Donning a red-and-white sailor shirt and bright red lipstick, Swift started the performance by pretending to be in a recording studio. The stage then changed over to resemble the song's music video, with backup dancers and animal-costumed musicians joining her as she belted out her latest breakup tune.
With no Kanye in sight, she was able to finish the song without incident, although someone at MTV did decide to pan the camera to Taylor Lautner -- who Swift once dated and sometimes acts like a werewolf. Being the good sport that he is, the actor simply smiled sweetly and clapped.
