"Firefighters risk their lives to protect the public, running into burning buildings, always putting the public's needs before their own. They make what I do look easy," Bucky notes. "If I can sing a few songs and raise money for a family in need, I consider it a small thing compared to what they do each day."
The generous singer will donate a portion of the proceeds from the album's first week of sales to Help the Good Guys and the International Association of Fire Fighters. "When a firefighter is in need -- whether suffering financial hardship as the result of a natural or man-made disaster or is injured or killed in the line of duty -- anything we can do to help them I consider a success," founder of Help the Good Guys, Mickey Milam, says.
In addition to giving proceeds from his upcoming CD, the North Carolina native will also release a special IAFF edition of the Good Guys CD, which has two bonus tracks, and can be purchased exclusively through the Help the Good Guys website.
Bucky was honored earlier this year with a personalized fire fighter helmet by the IAFF, in honor of his numerous contributions to the cause, including visiting burn centers, hosting events and making generous financial donations. The country star also recently participated in the Legends Car Race in Nashville, Tenn., which benefited Help the Good Guys and a local fire company.
Good Guys, which includes the duet with Shooter Jennings, "Drinking Side of Country," will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Pre-order a copy here.
