"I'm doing so much better than I was," the singer-actress reported on the "Live! With Kelly & Michael" show (quote via USA Today).
The painful incident happened when a lighting rig fell and hit Kristin. "(It) knocked me out, knocked my face and slammed me down to the ground ... The back of my head hit the curb. I had a skull fracture, rib issue, neck issue and a hip issue. I'm issue-ridden, but I'm getting better."
The Tony-award winning actress acknowledges her struggles even included her everyday speech. "I couldn't really form a sentence really well after it happened," she reveals. "I'm the queen of multi-tasking. I'm not so good at that right now. I'll be like, 'Mom, are you talking on the thing that you push ... the phone?'"
Kristin, who continues to wear a neck brace, adds that overall she feels fortunate. "I'm grateful," she insists. "It could have been so much worse."
The multi-talented entertainer can next be found opposite Trace Adkins at the American Country Awards, when the twosome return to the show as hosts for the second year. The ACAs will air live from Las Vegas on December 5 at 8:00 PM ET on FOX.
