"I can't believe it's finally happening," says Jim. "To get to record with Buddy is a dream." "We made this record in three days but it sounds like it took four," adds Buddy, jokingly.
This week has already been a great one for fans of the Americana genre. The roots-music movement's annual conference is now underway in Nashville, and on Wednesday night (Sept. 12), the awards show was held at the Ryman Auditorium, with the two men on stage throughout the star-studded event, as Buddy led the house band during the awards ceremony and Jim served as host.
Buddy & Jim will be available in advance of the worldwide release on CD and limited-edition vinyl at independent record stores participating in Record Store Day's Back to Black Friday promotion, which begins Nov. 23.
In addition to their musical collaboration, the two co-host the "Buddy and Jim" radio show from Buddy's home studio, on SiriusXM Outlaw Country, featuring music and interviews from American roots artists. And yesterday it was revealed that Jim Lauderdale's latest bluegrass album, Carolina Moonrise, will be released on Sept. 25.
Buddy & Jim track listing:
1. "I Lost My Job of Loving You"
2. "The Train That Carried My Gal From Town"
3. "That's Not Even Why I Love You"
