Randy Travis' Brother Arrested on Drug Charges

Union County

Trouble runs in Randy Travis' family. While the legendary singer-songwriter has made headlines with two recent arrests, it's his younger brother who is now in the news. David Traywick (Travis is Randy's stage name) was arrested in Marshville, N.C., last Thursday (Sept. 13) and charged with possession of methamphetamine, manufacturing a schedule II narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This is actually Traywick's second arrest in a month. On Aug. 27, he was picked up for communicating threats and second degree trespassing. While details from that and the most recent arrest have not been released, he was released from the former on $500 bond.

As for Randy's own legal troubles, the "Forever and Ever, Amen" singer was most recently issued an assault citation after being involved in a fight in a church parking lot. That was his third run-in with authorities this year.

Earlier in August, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, as well as retaliation, after crashing his car. The latter charge reportedly came after the singer verbally threatened the arresting officer. Randy walked away with several cuts and bruises on his face, but no one else was harmed.

In February, the 53-year-old was arrested for public intoxication in Sanger, Texas, after police found him parked outside another church with an open bottle of wine. At that time, he issued a statement to the Associated Press, apologizing for "what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl." He went on to promise that he is "committed to being responsible and accountable."

I hope Randy gets to the bottom of his erratic behavior. He's been a great guy many years even Andy Griffith had him on Matlock. Good luck Randy, God is waiting for youto come to him

odd how famous people can get arrested over and over and never do time, but us nobodies sure can't do that.

Don't you think we know entirely too much about this singer and his family? Honestly , we are like wolves picking at a dead road kill. We do not need to know the intimate details of peoples lives , we need to live our own.,

Who cares? I mean, really....who gives a shizzle? People and their siblings get in trouble all the damned time but it doesn't make the news. Sadly, the world has become hungry for garbage information.

I hope things turn around and start working better for the Travis family. Randy is a very nice guy, and I hope both brothers get their happy endings. Randy certainly deserves his.

Addiction is no laughing matter. May God shine on your beacon so that you too do not end up at the wrong end of a needle or bottle. Shame on you all for the base comments. He who laughs first laughs last.
