The Ellen DeGeneres Show
"Cancer does not discriminate," the 26-year-old explains of the reasoning behind her new 'do. "If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram ..."
"Then it will be worth it," interjects Kellie's childhood friend and cancer patient, Summer Holt, who shaved her own head with the country star.
As for her new look, Kellie isn't too concerned. "It's just hair!" she said during last week's appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." "I will be honest with you, I was nervous, and she was too. I hope I don't have some crazy birthmark or a mole." (Watch the segment below.)
The inspiring evening at the Opry is in conjunction with the nationwide Women Rock for the Cure initiative and will include performances by Jana Kramer and The Farm. The show will also take time to recognize breast cancer survivors and the ones who continue to battle the disease. Five dollars from every ticket sold, from now until Oct. 30, will be donated to Women Rock for the Cure. Tickets are sold here.
