Miranda Lambert's Dog Missing in Oklahoma

Sony Music Nashville

Miranda Lambert is frantically looking for one of her dogs, who disappeared earlier this week, and is calling on her more than a million Twitter followers to help bring the beloved animal home.

"If you live in Tishomingo Ok...our dog Loretta has been missing for 2 days. She is a small black lab. She has a pink collar w a tag," the songstress tweeted Tuesday (Sept. 18), along with a photo of Loretta (see below). "She is very friendly. If u see her, please call the number on her tag. We are praying she comes home soon."

The 28-year-old singer first found the pooch in May, and fell instantly in love. "New puppy I found last week. Loretta!" Miranda tweeted the day she was discovered. "She will go to a new good home soon I hope.:) or maybe she is already. Hehe"

After getting the go-ahead from her husband, Blake Shelton, Loretta joined their extensive brood that includes seven dogs, pot-bellied pigs, horses and chickens.

The upcoming four-time CMA Award nominee has a special place in her heart for animals, which is why she created MuttNation, a non-profit that helps fund animal shelters, promotes adoption and trains dogs for therapeutic purposes. Miranda also headlines an annual Cause for the Paws benefit to raise money for the charity.

"I've been able to really be involved with animal shelters, in particular, because that's something really close to my heart," she explains. "Cause for the Paws is a benefit I do for the Humane Society of East Texas, because I got my dog there."

Miranda will play three shows in Alabama and one in Georgia to wrap up her On Fire tour. See a list of the remaining shows here.

Many Thanks to Ms. Lambert Shelton for contributing time and money to help animals. How anyone can hurt an animal is beyond me. All they want is a little attention and love.

Say NO to libs!

I hope Loretta is safe and comes home soon. (But seriously, with seven dogs, pot-bellied pigs, horses and chickens, I think she just needed a break)!

Boy, AOL is really scraping the bottom of the barrel, on what appears to be a very slow news day. Someone's dog has gone missing? Really? Give us a break. Why didn't I get this kind of coverage when my goldfish died? I think I'll look into filing a suite against AOL.
