"I'm not confirmed, actually," the 22-year-old tells Country Weekly magazine. "I'm not actually signed on to do a movie at this point. You never want to talk about something like that until it is a definite thing. I would love to tell that story. It would be amazing. It would be an interesting, fascinating, incredibly intelligent and wonderful character to play, but nothing is confirmed right now."
"Girls Like Us" is a big-screen adaptation of the Sheila Weller book of the same name, which examines the lives of Joni, Carole King and Carly Simon. The role may still not be a done deal for Taylor, but chances are she'll appear on the big screen in the near future.
"Acting is something I've been fascinated by my entire life," she revealed to MTV earlier this year. "I would want to have the time, the ability and the love for something, the love for a character to where I could really make that commitment to it."
The "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer, who has already appeared in "Valentine's Day," and lent her voice to the animated film, "The Lorax," might not have much time to pursue acting roles in the near future. She has said she plans to hit the road in 2013 in support of her new album, Red, which will hit shelves on October 22.
Taylor will soon be featured on the small screen. She's nominated for three Country Music Association awards, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year trophy. The CMA Awards will air live, Nov. 1 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
