"I have dreamed about this day for a very long time," Luke says. "We are having the best time putting together all the bells and whistles for the tour. I have spent a lot of time out on tours with some really great artists and each night we have tried to learn from them. I couldn't be more excited about this!"
While Luke has served as an opening act for Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts, he's also gained experience commanding a stage by himself. The 36-year-old headlined his annual Farm Tour for the last four years and also hit the road for CMT on Tour: Tailgates & Tanlines in 2011.
"I can feel the momentum," Luke told The Boot. "It has been an interesting process, and I'm so glad it didn't happen three or four years ago because I wouldn't have enjoyed it. I would be freaking out!"
The Dirt Road Diaries tour will kick off Jan. 17 in Evansville, Ind. (See the dates for the first leg of the tour below). Tickets go on sale on Friday, Oct. 26. Pre-sale is available for Citi card members starting Oct. 22 here.
