Dierks Bentley Disappointed to Postpone Nashville Fundraiser

Blame the gloomy weather on Sunday (Oct. 14) for the postponement of Dierks Bentley's seventh annual Miles & Music for Kids event. The celebrity motorcycle ride and concert, which was to raise money for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, was going to include music by Sheryl Crow, Brantley Gilbert, Chris Young, Craig Campbell and Cadillac Black.

"We have to postpone Miles & Music today because of dangerous wind & storms moving into Nashville," the singer-songwriter announced on his website. "It's the last thing we wanted to do but safety is the priority. HUGE thanks to all the fans, riders, sponsors & artists who always come out to support us and Vandy Children's Hospital."

Dierks also took to Twitter to express his sadness over the cancellation. "Can't tell you all how disappointed i am and my team is about today. we have been looking forward to this day for a year," he tweeted. "Our fans came a long way to get here, and spent money to do so. and wanted to raise money for #vanderbiltchildrenshospital. thank you guys"

No word yet on the event being rescheduled, but with so much at stake, chances are good that a new date is already in the works. "I really want to blow Miles & Music out this year and make it bigger than ever," the superstar performer explained. "We've had the chance to help a lot of communities across the country, but the heart and soul of this event is in downtown Nashville with Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and the artists and friends who come out and help us raise money. It's my favorite thing we do all year."

The "Tip It on Back" singer continues his Country & Cold Cans tour this week with a show in Bowling Green, Ky., Thursday (Oct. 18). See his remaining concert dates here.
