Jason Aldean Thinks Pink for Upcoming Show

Jason Aldean will wrap his hugely successful My Kinda Party tour this Saturday (Oct. 27) in Dallas with his annual Concert for the Cure, which raises money for breast cancer awareness and research. The fundraiser, now in its seventh year, is a cause that's important to the country music superstar and he's excited to take his show to Texas for this year's special event

"Dallas is a great city. I love that town and I've always loved playing there," Jason told The Boot and other reporters at a recent press event. "Every year we do Concert for the Cure, we pick a place in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The show is always a lot of fun."

Jason's hope for Concert for the Cure is that he can bring a bit of joy to those struggling with the illness, and to those whose lives have been forever changed by it. "When people think about breast cancer, obviously, it's a terrible disease, but that show that we do is as much about celebrating the people that have beat the disease as much as it is remembering people who have lost their battle with it. It's not one of those nights that everybody's sad. It's a fun night. We do a lot of cool stuff. I deck out in pink, which doesn't happen very often. That should be fun around Texas. A bunch of cowboys giving me a hard time. It's a cool thing. I thought, what a great way to end the tour, and also have all the proceeds from the show going to Susan G. Komen [for the Cure]."

The Georgia native makes sure the city that hosts his Concert for the Cure benefits from the show. "Something we started doing last year, whatever the city is that we do that show in, all the proceeds go to that particular chapter. Last year it was Virginia, the year before it was Evansville [Ind.], and this year it's Dallas, so that particular chapter gets all the money for mammograms and whatever else. It's turned into a really cool thing, and this year is going to be the most money we've ever done. I'm looking forward to it."

Jason's annual Concert for the Cure began as a way to honor his friend Melissa, who passed away from the disease at just 29 years old. Tickets are already sold out.

Jason has three more shows in Texas this week before his Concert for the Cure. He will then head to Nashville for the CMA Awards, where is nominated for three trophies, including Entertainer of the Year. He'll also perform on the show.

The 46th Annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.

It takes a real man to wear pink and I am glad he is doing it for all the right reasons! Donating all the money from the Texas show is amazing and I respect that.
