Taylor Swift, Conor Kennedy Breakup?

Bring on the breakup songs. According to Us Weekly, Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy have split.

"They quietly parted ways a while ago," a source who claims to be a friend of Taylor's tells the magazine. "It was just a distance thing. No hard feelings. They're fine."

This news comes as a bit of a shock, as Taylor's latest single, "Begin Again" is rumored to be about the 18-year-old son of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and the late Mary Kennedy. The optimistic love song is about turning a new romantic leaf with a gentleman with whom she's able to wear heels, among other things. (Conor is a good head taller than his superstar squeeze.)

The music phenom and the high school senior were first spotted together back in July at the Kennedy family estate in Hyannis Port, Mass. Though she has kept the romance on the downlow, she has received a public stamp of approval from Conor's grandmother, Ethel Kennedy.

Us Weekly is blaming the split simply on Taylor's whirlwind schedule in support of her new album, Red. The so-called source blames distance, nothing contentious.

"It's been over a month since they've seen each other," the source reveals. "With her promotion for Red she has no time off until the end of the year."

Of course, we are taking this news with a grain of salt. Another "source" misidentified Taylor's brother as Conor on a "date" with her parents in Nashville. So we won't believe this story until we see the blond beauty with her next beau/songwriting inspiration.

wait a second!! I just read on here two days ago that she flew to see him at school for the 2nd time in a month!! Now they're saying they broke up and haven't seen each other in over a month!!!! what gives?? I think it's all a bunch of crap one way or the other!!

I realize celebrities know about life in the fish bowl, but dating a Kennedy is going under the microscope. Why should she put her self through that with so many other options. Looks like a nice enough guy/kid but that's a big family, lots of story plots and sub plots.
