2012 CMA Awards Entertainer of the Year Goes to Blake Shelton!

Reba McEntire and actor Tim Allen presented this year's CMA Awards Entertainer of the Year award to Blake Shelton. The red-headed songstress was brought to tears as she handed the trophy to her close friend. This marked Blake's third award of the night, but very first honor in the ceremony's top category.

"Man, you can tell this time, I really didn't think I was going to win: I'm still Willie'd out," Blake said as he got to stage in the same outfit he wore for the Willie Nelson tribute. "I didn't even go back and change. Entertainer of the Year? What are you talking about? When I moved to Nashville in 1994, I had two goals: one was to someday have a gold record and one was to someday be a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Entertainer of the Year was ... what is this?"

"I don't know how this happened but I freaking love it," he continued. "I try to represent country music as best I can with everything I do, whether it's television, it's touring, it's a lot of things. I love country music more than anybody in this room."

There is no doubt that the party will continue long into the night for the Oklahoma native, who also took home Male Vocalist and Song of the Year, the latter in conjunction with his wife, Miranda Lambert for "Over You."

Blake is very deserving of EOTY. There is no one who has brought non country fans into country music. Just read his facebook page and there are comments from many many people saying they weren't country fans until they seen Blake on the Voice. He made a album he's had 2 #1 this year and he did tour this year. I know this because I went to 2 of his concerts when he was in this area. He is true to country music and doesn't pretend to be someone he's not that is why his fan base is huge and his fans are true to him. In the start of this paragraph I meant to say there is no one that has brought more people to country music than Blake through the Voice :)

Wow some people on here need to let go.

Anyway Entertainer of the year is who is representing country music the most in that year. Blake Shelton has been on every daytime and night time talkshow promoting country music all year, releasing #1 singles, being on a Hit National show "the Voice" every week (2 days /week) in front of millions representing Country. Blake is very deserving.

I like Blake, but even like he said, he doesn't even tour, so how could he possibly win for entertainer. For the record too, Carrie should always win femalw vocalisst. No one bettter. Glad I watch the CMA;s for the entertainment and not too much on the awards.

Kenny should have won. I like Blake but didnt really think he was deserving, he is not even touring.

Blake spent the summer touring. I don't like Chesney much, but he was obviously Entertainer of the Year this year.
