2012 CMA Single of the Year Is Little Big Town's 'Pontoon'

Little Big Town took home the very first award of the night at the 46th Annual CMA Awards, and it was the group's very first win, even though they've been nominated every year since 2006.

"Oh my stars!" the group's Kimberly Schlapman exclaimed. "Brad Paisley, you just told my mama what motorboatin' is," she joked of the show opening during which Brad explained to his co-host Carrie Underwood that although the song was about spending time on a boat, the country-music buzzword of 2012 actually has an additional, less family-friendly meaning.

Jokes aside, Kimberly and her bandmates, Jimi Westbrook, Karen Fairchild and Phillip Sweet were obviously beyond thrilled to take home the trophy. And The Boot got things off to a good start, since we predicted they'd win for what also became their very first No. 1 single.
