2012 CMA Vocal Group of the Year Is Little Big Town

"Thank you Capitol Records and Jesus," Karen Fairchild shouted as Little Big Town accepted their second award of the night and their first CMA Vocal Group of the Year trophy.

The two awards cap an amazing year for the group that first formed 15 years ago and has until this year had its share of ups and downs -- not the least of which has included record deals with no less than three other labels, so, it makes sense they'd credit Capitol, for whom they scored a No. 1 album and a No. 1 single, with Tornado and "Pontoon," respectively.

The group spent much of 2012 on the road with Rascal Flatts but should be a prime contender for CMA honors next year as well, since their latest album is just getting started and they'll be headlining their own concert trek in 2013.

I wish the Rascal Flattts were recognized in this category but congrats to them. They seem like sweet, down to earth people.
