The Kappa Kappa Gammas of the University of North Texas came in second, raising $3,000 for the children's literacy program, RIF, while the Zeta Tau Alphas of the University of Alabama can contribute $2,000 towards breast cancer research with their third place prize. Both chapters will also get to rock out with the Josh Abbott Band during their own acoustic performances.
The contest, which is in its second year, encouraged sororities to create and submit two unique videos. The first, more serious, video showed the chapter's dedication to charity. The second gave sisters the opportunity to get as creative as possible to show their Josh Abbott Band spirit. For instance, the winning chapter incorporated the band into popular culture, with vignettes from the film "Bridesmaids" and the "Saturday Night Live" famed Spartan cheerleaders skit.
Watch the videos for the winning sorority below.
The Josh Abbott Band is off the road for the next couple of weeks, but you can see them again Dec. 5, during a stop in Lubbock, Texas. Find more of their tour dates here.
