"It's gonna be interesting trying to find turkey there," she muses. "That's kinda how my life goes. Wherever I'm gonna be I'm gonna be. I know that when I'm putting out a record all bets are off. I just put my head down and wake up when they tell me to and I just do what I'm told ... a lot. That sounds depressing, but I think it's fun."
The singer-songwriter, whose new album, Red, will soon be certified triple platinum, says she's grateful for every day she's able to pursue her passion.
"It's hard work but it's also my childhood dream," she notes. "I also keep a tight grasp on the fact that careers end every day. It is possible for you to say the wrong thing, do the wrong [thing], have a bad stroke of luck and it could be over, so why not appreciate every single day while you have it. Because there's no guarantee for anything."
